🌹 Rose Plant Care Guide
1. Location & Light
Sunlight: Roses need at least 6 hours of full sun daily. Morning sun is ideal to dry off dew and prevent fungal diseases.
Air Circulation: Good airflow helps prevent diseases. Avoid planting too close to walls or other plants.
2. Soil Requirements
Type: Well-draining, loamy soil enriched with organic matter.
pH: Slightly acidic to neutral (6.0–7.0).
Tip: Mix compost or aged manure into the soil before planting.
3. Watering
How Often: Water deeply 1–2 times per week, depending on climate.
Method: Water at the base to avoid wetting the leaves.
Avoid: Overwatering and waterlogged soil.
4. Fertilizing
Type: Use a balanced rose fertilizer (e.g., 10-10-10 NPK) or organic options like fish emulsion or bone meal.
Schedule: Feed every 4–6 weeks during the growing season (spring through summer).
5. Pruning
When: Late winter or early spring, just before new growth starts.
How:
Cut dead, damaged, or diseased canes.
Trim crossing branches to open up the center.
Prune above outward-facing buds to shape the plant.
6. Mulching
Benefits: Retains moisture, suppresses weeds, and enriches soil.
Type: Organic mulch like bark chips or compost, 2–3 inches thick.
